They rolled out the carpet for us.
Well, not so much - but at least the dean came out to say a few words. In Chinese. And we got some pretty official looking certificates. Might fool somebody who doesn’t read Chinese that we actually did something.
Actually though - we really have - pretty amazing how far this has taken us.
We’ve made it through the 2.5 week intensive classes. Even took a final exam and all passed. Far too many phrases, characters and new vocab to remember right now. Hopefully it will be put to good use soon. As in tommorow when we leave the relative comfort of native speakers and head off to our posts.
Maybe the most important thing I learned in the class is that it will take me another 10 years to be fluent.
